|
Steve Thomas, who finished 4th in the AL in innings pitched with 224.2 in 2036, was locked in. The left-hander led the Portland Beavers to a 4-1 win against the Los Angeles Kings at Sportsman's Park. Andy Buhrke notched his 4th save of the season. The win brings the Beavers to 7-5, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Portland used the hitting of Matt Lamons to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Beavers on top, 1-0. For the game, Lamons had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Lamons said after the game.
