Guest Wayfinders Win, 7-5, at Osaka
|
Waikiki center fielder Luke Spradley played a vital role in his team's 7-5 conquest of Osaka. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Waikiki. Drew Nelson, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The Takoyaki drop to 6-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2053 season.
Waikiki used the timely hitting of Phil Georgi to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Wayfinders on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Spradley told the Waikiki Citizen: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
