Pizzas Need Extra Frames to Get Past Super Volcano
The Detroit Pizzas and Yellowstone Super Volcano put on a pitchers' duel.

The Detroit Pizzas had to weather a strong performance from Yellowstone pitcher Justin Kowalick before claiming a 2-0 win in 13 innings. Kowalick went 9 innings and allowed no runs. Bill Arellano collected his 1st save.

Detroit took advantage of an error in the top of the 13th inning. The game was tied, 0-0, when Nate Horton hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Pizzas in front, 2-0.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Detroit manager Evan Compton.

Losses have been rare for the Super Volcano, who are now 9-3.
