In a remarkable performance, Sarasota Sweeties starter Luis Ortiz beat the Rochester River Sharks, 6-0, in an impressive 2-hit shutout.

"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."

The Sweeties hurler finished with 11 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

"It was a rough one for my guys," Rochester manager Eddie King said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."

Ortiz has made 7 starts so far this year and put up a 3-0 won-lost record with a 1.30 ERA. In 48.1 innings he has allowed 24 hits, walked 15 and struck out 33.
