In a low-scoring contest between the Arizona Desert Storm and the Lansing Red Storm, Ron Cook was the X factor. The Arizona right-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Josh Kern, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. The win moves Arizona to a record of 7-4.

Arizona took the lead, 2-0, on Kvetoslav Novy's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Lansing pitcher Jon Flint in the bottom of the seventh.

"We put together a nice win," Novy said.
