Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs home opener. Matt Wesberry started for the home team against Chris Wilkoff for the Waikiki Wayfinders. The Blueberry Bulldogs were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 10-8, Waikiki. Josh Freeland, though, was impressive. Tim Pettit collected save number 1.

Setsujiro Takahashi had a big solo home run for the Wayfinders in the top of the third inning. With Waikiki leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a sinker from Matt Wesberry, the 13th overall pick in the 2047 draft, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Wayfinders on top, 3-1.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Takahashi.
