The Yellowstone Super Volcano spoiled a good performance by Kyiv third baseman Jeremy Gillespie, bumping off Kyiv, 6-5, at Kyiv Grounds. Gillespie went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Nick Castillo was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Kurat Feyzioglu. Ryan Podolsky earned the save for Yellowstone, his 5th.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Travis Kinnard came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Kyiv pitcher Kurat Feyzioglu, he hit a first pitch slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Yellowstone on top, 6-5.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Kinnard said.
