Garcia Blasts Blueberry Bulldogs, Archies Take Game 4, 9-4
|
Handed an opportunity to take a commanding lead in the League Championship, the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs could not close the deal.
Game 4 went into extra frames and the St. Louis Archies emerged victorious, taking a 10-inning, 9-4 win. St. Louis second baseman Alex Garcia belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice in the win at Bulldogs Ballpark to drag the Archies back to parity. The clubs are now tied 2-2 in the best-of-7 series.
St. Louis needed the clutch hitting of Adrian Ressler to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Archies on top, 5-4. For the game, Ressler had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Ressler told the St. Louis News.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bulldogs Ballpark in Sudbury.
