The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs started the League Championship in style, winning on the road against the St. Louis Archies at Team2 Ballpark by a score of 4-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Blueberry Bulldogs right-hander George Wilson threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs.

Josh Freeland drew 1 walk for Sudbury. With one out and the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, Freeland, who finished 3rd in the FL in OPS with .943 in 2051, had a clutch at-bat. Facing St. Louis hurler Mike Ricketts, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Blueberry Bulldogs a 3-2 lead.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Freeland.
