Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Beavers, 6-5
|
Portland Beavers third baseman Marco Estrada was the difference-maker at Beavers Park, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the League Championship. The Beavers took the 6-5 win over the Buffalo Buffalo to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Portland trailing 5-4, Estrada jumped on a fastball from five-time All-Star Noah Powell and hit a 2-run home run to left. With one swing, the Beavers had a walk-off win.
Said Estrada: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, November 1st , 2051 at The Greenhouse in Buffalo.
