Kyiv Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
|
The Kyiv Cossacks moved to within one game of the League Championship, downing the visiting Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs at Kyiv Grounds by a score of 3-2. Cossacks right-hander Brian Collins had a strong outing in which he threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Cossacks a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Divisional Series.
Collins, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, threw 107 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing 2 runs.
"Every team in baseball loses," Blueberry Bulldogs manager GM AllStar said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 4th , 2052 at Bulldogs Ballpark in Sudbury.
