Redondo Blasts Archies, Takoyaki Take Game 2, 6-5
|
With designated hitter Juan Redondo leading the charge, the Osaka Takoyaki got a road win over the St. Louis Archies, 6-5, in Game 2 of the Divisional Series. Redondo went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 at Team2 Ballpark to help Osaka force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
Osaka used the timely hitting of Mike Perry to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Takoyaki on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Redondo said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 4th , 2052 at Takoyaki Park in Osaka.
