Beavers Take 2-1 Lead with 3-1 Win
|
The Portland Beavers moved to within one game of the League Championship, downing the visiting Yellowstone Super Volcano at Beavers Park by a score of 3-1. Beavers right-hander Jason Scothorn had a strong outing in which he threw 7.1 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Beavers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Divisional Series.
Portland took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Ethan Breaux hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Beavers in front, 3-1.
Breaux called the win "a collective effort."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Beavers Park in Pittsburgh.
