Porters Rally to Win
|
Due in large part to right fielder Gabriel Macias, the Dublin Porters sunk the Lansing Red Storm, 7-6. Macias went 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs. Marco Pagan, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Lansing, with the loss, is 3-6.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Dublin designated hitter Jason Widel, facing Jeff Pledger, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Porters the 7-6 win.
"We found a way to get it done," Widel said.
