Super Volcano Clip Knights, 3-2, in LC Contest
|
The Yellowstone Super Volcano and the Brooklyn Knights will take the League Championship to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Super Volcano beat the Knights, 3-2, at Brooklyn Coliseum to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Yellowstone right-hander Mike Martinez had a big role in the win. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball.
Yellowstone needed the clutch hitting of Doug Godwin to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Super Volcano on top, 3-2. For the game, Godwin had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Nice win for us," said Godwin. "Now we'll go after the next one."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Brooklyn Coliseum in Brooklyn.
