Exploding Whales Sweep Kinsale in Round 3
The Eugene Exploding Whales rolled over the Kinsale Fisherman 10-9 at Whales Field to easily win the 2050 Round 3 crown.

Eugene won in a walk and swept the series from the Fisherman 4-0. It was their 2nd championship title.

Winning manager Shigeru Hayashi praised his own club as well as the opposition, calling the Fisherman "a fine team."

"It wasn't as easy as it looked. We had to play good baseball to beat them," he said. "We always seemed to come up with the key hit at the right time and to make the plays on defense when we had to. That's how you win the Round 3."

The Exploding Whales took last place in the Division 3 and rounded out the year with a 73-71 record.
