Kyiv Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
The Kyiv Cossacks faced a challenging opponent in Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs right-hander Josh Freeland, but did just enough to squeak out a 2-1 win in Game 2 of the Divisional Series. Kyiv now leads 2-0 in the best-of-5 series. The Cossacks won despite the Blueberry Bulldogs getting an excellent start from starter Freeland, who allowed 2 runs and scattered 4 hits over 7.2 innings.

Rod Garcia, who finished 4th in the FL in extra base hits with 70 in 2048, aided the Kyiv cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.

"We haven't stopped playing," Sudbury manager Coach John said. "We didn't get this far to give up."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 8th , 2050 at Bulldogs Ballpark in Sudbury.
