Archies Deal Porters 6-3 Loss
|
A good performance from left fielder Juan Mercado helped the St. Louis Archies defeat the Dublin Porters, 6-3. Mercado was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Archies. Spencer Hay earned the win. Greg Sebera, who led the FL in wins with 20 in 2045, took the loss for Dublin. The first-place Archies now have a win-loss record of 51-30.
St. Louis took a 5-1 lead on Mercado's 2nd double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which he hit off Greg Sebera in the top of the seventh, propelled St. Louis to the win.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said St. Louis manager Terry Schneekloth.
