The Los Angeles Kings racked up a win at Sportsman's Park, bumping off the Buffalo Buffalo, 7-3. Jon Avery, who started for Los Angeles, pitched effectively for his team. The Kings raised their record to 37-45.

Dave Martinez cracked a home run off Sam Gleghorn in the bottom of the third. His 3-run blast put the Kings on top, 3-0. In all, Martinez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
