The Detroit Pizzas took on the Los Angeles Kings at Sportsman's Park.

Los Angeles got a valiant performance from pitcher Steve Wilkerson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Detroit Pizzas. Detroit won the game, 7-2. Wilkerson threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Chad Edwards got credit for the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings.

It could have been a different outcome for Detroit, had it not been for Rourke Hamburg, the 22-year old first baseman . Hamburg contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Detroit up, 5-2.

"The vibe's good," said Detroit manager Evan Compton. "We've got to keep it going."
