The performance of Jack Rayner proved critical in helping Dublin beat Lansing, 9-2. The Porters catcher was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Greg Sebera, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Eric Hartman collected save number 1.
With Dublin leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third, Rayner hit a fastball from Jason Frey for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Porters ahead, 7-0.
"It's a long season," said Rayner. "We'll keep working to improve."
The loss drops the Red Storm to 3-5.
