Knights Rack Up 9-2 Win Versus Los Angeles
|
The Brooklyn Knights pinned a convincing loss on the Los Angeles Kings, 9-2, at Sportsman's Park. Trevor Benudiz was a main factor in the win. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Brooklyn. Art Madsen was the winner. He's now 2-2. The loser was 33-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Watkins. Tanner Denny earned his 2nd save in 4 chances.
Brooklyn used a clutch at-bat from Oscar Hernandez to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Knights ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"What a lackluster performance," lamented losing manager Jim KP.
The defeat makes Los Angeles 44-34.
