The Portland Beavers beat the Buffalo Buffalo, 6-1, at The Greenhouse. Portland first baseman Danny Gutierrez, who finished 3rd in the AL in on-base percentage with .424 in 2046, collected 1 single and 2 doubles with 2 runs batted in. Portland, at 36-43, occupies third place in the Alliance League Dimwits Division.

Gutierrez contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Portland in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Gutierrez took a fastball from Tim Ocampo and stroked the double to right. His 20th double of the season allowed the Beavers to leap in front, 2-1.

"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Gutierrez. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
