Waikiki Slaps 4-2 Loss on East Haddam
|
Vicente Tejeda, who is tied for 10th in the FL with a 9.4 K/9 rate, had a strong outing for the Waikiki Wayfinders against the East Haddam Hyenas at Ballpark of Honolulu. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Tejeda, the winner, moves to 4-8. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 4 walks. Danny Dudley earned the save for Waikiki, his 17th of the year.
The Wayfinders got a big at-bat from left fielder Jeff Johnson. For the game, Johnson was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Waikiki a 2-0 lead.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Tejeda.
The Wayfinders sport a record of 30-47.
