Bulldogs Ballpark was the site of a tense game between the Osaka Takoyaki and Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs.

The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs received a superlative performance from starting pitcher Josh Freeland, allowing them to bump off the Osaka Takoyaki, 3-1. Freeland got the win, improving to 8-5. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Justin Roeber wrapped it up, recording his 13th save.

Sudbury took the lead, 3-1, on Albert Bencomo's 16th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Osaka pitcher Mark Foglesong in the bottom of the eighth.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Bencomo.

The Takoyaki have now dropped 5 straight.
