Brooklyn Beats Los Angeles, 5-4
|
The Brooklyn Knights topped the Los Angeles Kings, 5-4, in Alliance League action at Sportsman's Park. The standout performance belonged to Brooklyn designated hitter and Brooklyn, New York, native Josh Deere. Ray Totino earned the win to go to 9-6. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. Tanner Denny, who finished 2nd in the AL in saves with 35 in 2046, nailed down the save.
Brooklyn used a clutch at-bat from John Baccari to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Knights ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Brooklyn manager Enoch Tang said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
The Kings, now 26-51, have lost 4 in a row.
