Big Day at the Plate for Allman Not Enough for Takoyaki
|
The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs took on the Osaka Takoyaki at Takoyaki Park.
The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs weathered an outstanding game by Osaka designated hitter Sean Allman to topple the Takoyaki, 12-5. Allman went 2 for 2 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 4 times. Josh Freeland picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 8-4.
Early in the game, pitcher Josh Freeland had a 2-run double for Sudbury. It was his 18th double of the season and put the Blueberry Bulldogs on top, 2-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Freeland told the Sudbury Times.
With the win, Sudbury goes to 43-34, while the Takoyaki fall to 33-44.
