Dragon Warriors Down Knights, 8-3
|
The Hanoi Dragon Warriors picked up a win at Brooklyn Coliseum, knocking off the Brooklyn Knights, 8-3. Starting pitcher Aaron Wierzba played a key role in the triumph. Wierzba, now 8-4, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing no runs. The loss makes Brooklyn 37-40.
Tied up with the Knights in the top of the fifth inning, the Dragon Warriors got a boost from right fielder Josh Sunday. With the bases loaded, Sunday saw a 3-1 sinker from Justin Gray and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Hanoi on top, 1-0.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Sunday.
