Super Volcano Hand Kings 4-1 Loss
|
Yellowstone Super Volcano pitcher Justin Kowalick was in fine form, leading his team past the Los Angeles Kings, 4-1. Kowalick yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 8-3. The save went to Ramon Jacquez, his 1st this season.
Travis Kinnard, who finished 2nd in the AL in doubles with 56 in 2044, took Los Angeles hurler Toby Guinn deep in the top of the first. His solo home run put the Super Volcano on top, 1-0. In all, Kinnard had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Jim KP.
The third-place Super Volcano improved to 36-40.
