|
Buffalo beat Detroit on the strength of starting pitcher Jimmy Miller's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Miller, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The loss drops Detroit to 4-4.
Buffalo used the timely hitting of Brian Nadeau to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Buffalo on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Buffalo manager Jim Punk42ae.
