Knights Get One-Run Win at Waikiki
|
Starting pitcher Art Madsen gave the Brooklyn Knights a rock-solid effort. The Prairie Village, Kansas native helped his team defeat the Waikiki Wayfinders, 3-2, at Ballpark of Honolulu. Madsen got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 4 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. George Liston recorded his 19th save for Brooklyn.
Dave Muzzy, who finished 4th in the AL in triples with 5 last year, contributed to the Brooklyn win with a 2-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I was able to really locate my pitches tonight," said Madsen.
The last-place Wayfinders now sit at 28-48.
