Brooklyn used a superb performance from starting pitcher Manny Aguayo to down the Los Angeles Kings, 5-1. Aguayo, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Brooklyn goes to 6-2.

Kenichi Kanzaki had a big 2-run home run for the Knights in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Brooklyn leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from Kevin Feltes, who finished 2nd in the AL in strikeouts with 244 in 2045, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Knights on top, 4-1.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Aguayo.
