Knights Sunk by Kings
|
The Los Angeles Kings beat the Brooklyn Knights, 6-4, at Brooklyn Coliseum. Mario Rodriguez, in particular, was impressive. He was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. George Ritchie picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 3 in 6 innings. Getting the save was Jay Vasey, his 1st.
Rodriguez had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-2 slider from Carlos Aguilera, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Kings a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Rodriguez.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Rodriguez said.
With the loss, Brooklyn falls to 2-6.
