Cifelli Excels, St. Louis Wins League Championship Game 1
The St. Louis Archies started the League Championship in style, downing the visiting Dublin Porters at Team2 Ballpark by a score of 8-6 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Archies first baseman Brian Cifelli went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice.

A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the second. That's when Cifelli hit a splitter from Jim Steeb for a 3-run home run, putting St. Louis up, 7-3.

After the game, Cifelli refused to speak to a reporter for the St. Louis Chronicle. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Team2 Ballpark in San Diego.
