The Hartford Defenders stunned the Galway Gales by sweeping the Round 3 4-0. The Defenders dumped them 3-0 today at Gales Ballpark in the deciding game of the series.

This was the 7th time Hartford has been the league champions. During the regular season the powerful Defenders chalked up a 82-58 mark and finished in first place in the Division 1.
