Cossacks Earn 7-6 Win Versus Knights
The Kyiv Cossacks beat the Brooklyn Knights, 7-6, at Kyiv Grounds. Fernando Vazquez, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Bob Rendahl, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. The first-place Cossacks have won 4 straight.

Vazquez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Mike McIntire, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Cossacks a 7-6 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Vazquez.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Vazquez after the game.
