Cossacks Slip Past 92's, 10-6
|
Getting offensive support from David Summers, the Kyiv Cossacks topped the Saskatchewan 92's, 10-6. Summers was 1-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Cossacks. The 92's, now 36-37, have lost 4 straight.
Kyiv used the timely hitting of Noah Abitia to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cossacks on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Kyiv manager Boris Lahutin was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
