Gainey Helps Desert Storm Defeat Porters, 7-4
Thanks in large part to shortstop Joe Gainey, the Arizona Desert Storm beat the Dublin Porters, 7-4. Gainey was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Terry Donohue, who finished 2nd in the FL in saves with 41 in 2049, was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Zion Anthony. The Desert Storm now have a record of 31-42.

In the bottom of the eighth, Gainey put his team in front with his 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Zion Anthony, made it 7-4, Arizona.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gainey. "And not try to do too much."
