The sweet swing of Nate MacNeil has led his team through the Round 2.

The Santa Clara Vanguard star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Hartford Defenders to advance to the Round 3.

The Vanguard won the final game at Rockets Ballpark by a score of 9-2 and the series 4-3.

"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said MacNeil. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."

For the series, MacNeil hit .429 with a .520 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Santa Clara Vanguard will play against the Galway Gales in the next round. Galway won their series against the Baltimore Jaspers 4 games to 3. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
