Porters Win, 3-1, Versus Los Angeles

Dublin and Los Angeles played a hard-fought contest.
Juan Gonzalez never let Los Angeles get something going. The Dublin right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Porters to a 3-1 win. Eric Hartman, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 1.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0.
Steve Barone came through with a big-time hit for Dublin. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Barone.
Dublin goes to 37-35, Los Angeles to 36-36.
