By a score of 7-0, the Galway Gales have sealed a victory in the Round 1 over the Omaha Steaks.

"We knew we would be in for a tough series and that's what we got," said center fielder Kevin Bale of the Gales, who was named the series MVP. "The Steaks knew how to battle and gave us a good test."

The next test for Galway will come in the Round 2, after winning this series 4-2.

The Galway Gales don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the San Jose Sabercats - Vung Tau Vipers series. Vung Tau leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
