The sweet swing of Chris Garner has led his team through the Round 1.

The Rhome Rhavioli star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Galveston Gumdrops to advance to the Round 2.

The Rhavioli won the final game at Banner Island Ballpark by a score of 10-3 and the series 4-1.

"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Garner. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."

For the series, Garner hit .526 with a .522 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Rhome Rhavioli don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Grosse Pointe Better Mades - Oklahoma City Hooks series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
