Grosse Pointe Better Mades won a nail-biting series against the Oklahoma City Hooks 4-3, wrapping up the Round 1 finale 7-2 at Hooks Ballpark.

Better Mades second baseman Ben Chaidez was named the series MVP.

He batted .387, drove in 2 runs and scored 7 to lead Grosse Pointe into the next round of play.

"Ben was real solid for us, real solid," said Better Mades manager Gary McGraw. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time."

The Grosse Pointe Better Mades will play against the Rhome Rhavioli in the next round. Rhome won their series against the Galveston Gumdrops 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes..
