Aces Win Round 1
|
It was a rousing finish to the Round 1 at Aces Ballpark today.
The Melbourne Aces sent the Long Island Ducks home for the season with a 4-2 win in the decisive game of the series.
The Aces took the series 4-3. Up next on their schedule is the Round 2.
Hauling in the MVP trophy was Melbourne right fielder Gene Dillard. His numbers included a .607 batting average, 5 RBIs and 8 runs.
"With any luck, I'll be hoisting another one of these at the end of the Round 2," he said.
The Melbourne Aces will play against the Rhome Rhavioli in the next round. Rhome won their series against the Can Tho Cobras 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
