Linksmen Cruise to Round 2 with Sweep
|
With a 3-2 win to wrap up the series at Drew Grounds, the Augusta Linksmen have eliminated the Melbourne Aces in the Round 1 and move on to the Round 2.
Augusta controlled the series from the outset and won it in a 4-0 sweep.
Chris Ulloa led the charge offensively for the victors, winning series MVP honors. He posted a .500 batting average, along with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 6 runs.
"We're not done yet," the MVP said. "There is still a lot to accomplish."
The Augusta Linksmen don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Buffalo Red Sox - Cork Claws series. Cork leads the series 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
