The first-place Yellowstone Super Volcano took on the East Haddam Hyenas in front of a spirited crowd.

Due in large part to designated hitter Bobby Blank, the Yellowstone Super Volcano sunk the East Haddam Hyenas, 8-5. Blank went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Justin Kowalick, who finished 3rd in the AL in wins with 16 in 2048, was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 11 strikeouts.

Yellowstone second baseman Justin Shore contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 51st hit of the season and put the Super Volcano ahead, 6-4.

"We took home the win," said Shore. "What's not to like?"

Yellowstone goes to 40-30. The win puts them 4½ games up in their division.
