Los Angeles Loses, 5-3, to Kyiv in 10

The Kyiv Cossacks picked up a win at Kyiv Grounds, knocking off the Los Angeles Kings, 5-3. Starting pitcher Zachery DeShields was a big reason why. Jimmy Gold picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-5. Jim Davis, who finished 3rd in the AL in saves with 41 last year, was tagged with the loss. The Federation League Knuckleheads Division-leading Cossacks are 40-32.
The decisive blow was delivered by Noah Abitia in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 2-run home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Davis to win the game for Kyiv. The home crowd went nuts.
"I really like what we did out there today," Abitia said after the game.
