Behind the hitting of Greg Lee, the Wilmington Blue Rocks stopped the Los Angeles Kings, 6-4, in 10 innings. Lee was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Blue Rocks. Picking up his 15th save was 29-year old right-handed pitcher Rodolfo Merlos. The win for the Blue Rocks lifted their record to 35-35.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Lee delivered big-time for Wilmington, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Eric Barone. The game-changing hit put the Blue Rocks on top, 6-4.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Lee told the Wilmington Daily News.
