The Los Angeles Kings beat the Portland Beavers, 6-2, at Beavers Park. The win was due in part to second baseman Nick Olveda, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Earl Alexander was the winner. He's now 4-7. The loser was fan favorite Alex Bacio.

Olveda had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Alex Bacio, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Kings a 6-2 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Olveda.
