Kyiv picked up a win at Bulldogs Ballpark, bumping off the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, 6-5. Pitcher Adam Dodson was a major reason the Cossacks emerged victorious. Jimmy Gold was credited with the save for Kyiv, his 13th of the season. With the win, Kyiv upped its record to 39-32.

Kyiv used a clutch at-bat from Steve Buffington to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cossacks ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Sudbury manager Coach John. "The effort was great."
