Nevarez belts 2 home runs in St. Louis Win
|
The St. Louis Archies trumped the East Haddam Hyenas, 6-5, at Team2 Ballpark. St. Louis right fielder Marcos Nevarez was terrific. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Reliever Justin Donahue picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Arturo Hernandez took the loss. St. Louis, at 43-26, is 12 games up in the Federation League Birdbrains Division.
Albert Salgado, who is tied for 3rd in the FL with a .330 batting average, helped out the St. Louis cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
Nevarez told a St. Louis Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
