Porters Need Extra Innings to Top Kings, 7-4
|
The Dublin Porters beat the Los Angeles Kings, 7-4, in 10 innings at Sportsman's Park. Dublin left fielder Jesse Oswald had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dublin reliever Zion Anthony picked up the win, while Eric Barone took the loss for Los Angeles. The third-place Kings dropped to 34-35.
Oswald had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch curveball from Eric Barone, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Porters a 7-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Oswald.
In postgame remarks, Oswald said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
