Blue Rocks Lose By a Run at Los Angeles
|
The Los Angeles Kings and Wilmington Blue Rocks put on a pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring contest, Los Angeles pitcher Alex Watkins was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. Kevin Feltes, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Eric Barone earned his 19th save, after closing out the game.
Had Xavier Blair not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Blair hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Kings.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Watkins.
Los Angeles has won 4 consecutive games.
