Baker Strokes 5 Hits
|
Threshers third baseman Adam Baker had his way with Portland pitching at Walker Stadium and mauled them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Pickles ruined his great day by toppling the Threshers, 10-5.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Portland credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Baker did today," Pickles skipper Bryce DeMont said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Adam Baker singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season, Baker has banged out 76 hits in 254 at-bats for a .299 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .349 pace and his totals also include 25 RBIs and 30 runs scored.
